About
Steven Buehler began acting in 2008. During his acting career in Columbia, MO, Steven portrayed a range of characters both on stage and on camera. His performances include playing principal characters in nine mainstage theatrical productions at the University of Missouri where his performance as Bernard Nightingale in Arcadia earned him a nomination to compete for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Ames, Iowa. Steven has merited additional recognition for his performances on stage at the University of Missouri, being awarded the Tom Berenger Acting Scholarship (2009-10), the John-Ross Berneche Scholarship (2009-10), and the Peggy and Donovan Rhynsburger Scholarship (2010-11 and 2011-12).
Steven’s film and television experience in Columbia include performances in three feature-length films. He was cast as a principle character in Columbia's local film, Lit, and also earned a speaking role in A Horrible Way to Die, a film featured in the Toronto International Film Festival. Recently, he was cast in a Swiss Docudrama titled Enemies in Love about Iris von Roten, the first Swiss feminist, in which Steven played Iris' American boyfriend, Louis. Steven has also played principle characters in five local short films, one of which won Best Dramatic Film at the Silver Screen Film Festival held in Columbia. Steven also played the lead character in two paid television commercials for MBS Textbook Exchange.
Upon graduating magna cum laude from the University of Missouri, he moved to Los Angeles in August 2012 to pursue his acting career. After a month in the City of Angels, he signed with a commercial agent. He has since been cast in several commercial spots for companies such as Gillette and Samsung. He has also been cast in an indie SAG ULB film called American Beach House, in which he played a supporting role along with Mischa Barton and Lorenzo Lamas. He was recently cast as the lead in a SAG short-film titled The Modern Man, which should be hitting the festival circuit early 2013.
